Go-for-iT! launch: LED's for the people

En eindelijk was er dan het grote feest waarin de buurt kennis kon maken met de stoeptegels met de ledjes, op het laatste moment werden de rvs platen met uitleg en -heel belangrijk- het nummer waarmee het spel gestart kan worden, op hun plaats gelegd, en op iedere lokatie stonden er teamleden en vrijwilligers klaar om de bezoekers, die met busladingen werden aangevoerd, uitleg te geven..
Finally: the big game-launch. At the last moment the plates with the phone number to start the game were put in place. At every location team members and volunteers explained the game to the busloads of interested people..

..ondertussen werd het donker en oefenden de slimmeriken alvast..
..meanwhile, it got dark and smart little girls tries the tiles already..

..en toen werd het druk en genoot men van -bijna allemaal- locale helden..
..and then the crowds moved in and enjoyed the -mostly local- dance- and music- heroes..


..en hoe mal het ook klinkt: jong en oud hadden er lol in..
..and it seems funny, but young and old enjoyed the ride..

..waardige afsluiter was Winne, die op ouderwets gezellige manier de voetjes van de vloer kreeg en eindigde met het heel toepasselijke: peace!, door de hele tent meegezonden.
..last artist was Winne, who ended his gig with the very appropriate: Peace!, repeated by the whole tent.

De eerste gasten hebben het Go-for-iT! spel op het Mallegat -bij de Koepels- ontdekt! Deze jongens zijn ook behulpzaam bij het bouwen van de tenten waarin vanmiddag om 5 uur het spel gepresenteerd wordt. Ondertussen probeert de buurt de tegels met de LED's en de sensoren..
These guys just discovered the Go-for-iT! game on the Mallegat, by the way the same people building the party-tent where the launch will take place. Meanwhile, the neighbourhood tries out the tiles with the sensors and LED's..

Aanstaande zaterdag is het zover: de dag van het het grote Go-for-IT launching event. Het spektakel vindt plaats op het Mallegat, een van de mooiste plekken op Feijenoord, zie kaartje hierboven. Op het
moment wordt de stad dichtgeplakt en volgegooid met resp. posters en flyers:

laatste/last test setup

De stoep voor de Patching Zone aan de Oranjeboomstraat wordt op het moment benut als test-setup voor het eerste Go-for-iT! spel dat over 3 weken wordt gepresenteerd op de 12de December om precies te zijn. Op de foto sluit Tom de laatste LED's en sensors aan..





Deze week wordt er uitgebreid ge-usertest, hou de blog in de gaten voor updates..

amba-meeting

The Patching Zone organiseerde haar jaarlijkse ambassadeurs-middag met presentaties van bestuurslid Annejet Meijer, Anne Nigten en teamleden Pinar Temiz en Thomas Duc..

..het was vooral een nuttige bijeenkomst, waarin onze vrienden en partners weer eens precies werd uitgelegd wat de status van het lopende project is en wat de plannen voor het komend jaar zijn.
..it was a useful meeting that informed our friends and partners exactly what we are doing now and what's going to happen next year.

De werkzaamheden voor het grote stadsspel dat PZ op 12 december presenteert zijn inmiddels de fase van het keihard produceren ingegaan: teamleden lopen rond met witte kuiven van het stof dat door de ruimte -en vooral de tuin- dwarrelt, en hebben zelfs spierpijn. Dat betekent niet dat de intellectuele arbeid die voor het maken van een spel vereist is achter de rug is; er wordt ook hard doorgewerkt aan de gameplay van de spellen.
Hieronder legt Thomas Duc uit hoe de antenne in elkaar wordt gezet die het Zigbee-signaal gaat verspreiden door Rotterdam Zuid..
The work at the big city game -presented at the 12th of December- has reached the phase of 'hard labour': teammembers walk around with white hair of the dust that is spreading through the PZ studio -and -garden-, and even complain about muscle-ache.
This does not mean the inetellectual efforts have stopped; there's still a lot of work going to be done to finish the gameplay of the four separate games in time.
Here Thomas Duc explains how Pinar and Andy are putting together an antenna for the Zigbee-signal.

result Op z'n kop fest

Het resultaat van het Op z'n Kop fest is er: een animatie waar vrijwel alle PZ-ers aan hebben meegewerkt maar vooral natuurlijk Muk, die de hele dag voorbereidde, Chris, verantwoordelijk voor de video en Pinar, die de audio deed. Zij hebben nachten doorgewerkt om de animatie klaar te krijgen voor de open dag van afgelopen zaterdag in Rotterdam Zuid...
The result of the Op z'n Kop fest are finally there! A lot of PZ-people co-operated on the animation but I have to mention Muk, who prepared the day, Chris (video) and Pinar (audio) who worked nights to get it all ready in time for the open day at Rotterdam Zuid last Saturday..
